Best AEC use of Twitter will go to a person or organisations making really effective use of Twitter in their work in the architecture, engineering, construction, property, facilities management or infrastructure sectors. We are looking for individuals or organisations who you think demonstrate good practice in use of Twitter, perhaps people who are helpful or great sources of information, or who are great at engaging with other people online. Remember: size isn't everything. The award shouldn't be judged on the numbers of Tweets or followers someone has; the quality of interaction is what matters.

• Andy Marshall: @Fotofacade - "enlightens his followers with a fine blend of information/comment and is the master of 'telling a story'.... offers insights into his life and work (architectural photography) without ever 'selling'."
• Paul Wilkinson: @EEPaul - uses Twitter to share links about his work and interests in AEC IT and in social media, plus occasional beefs about transport, cycling and football
• Alice Kershaw: @alicekershaw - "highlights the importance of heritage to the built environment in Peterborough, showcasing projects, highlighting interesting buildings and facts to create a sense of place online."
• Mark Stephens: @architectmark - "he tweets about his work, and provides advice to people thinking about a building project but who perhaps don’t know where to start. Or who have perhaps started a project and need some help moving forward."
• Lorna Parsons: @LornaParsons / @MADEplaces - for her tireless use of twitter, and during the CABE/MADE summer school "for ensuring that the tutors', speakers' and students' voices and progress was heard across the city and beyond"
• James Mott: @ProjectBook - "totally unselfish with his time to support new users into the Twitter community."
• Matthew Franklin: @Shropsarchitect - "has used Twitter to carve out a niche for his freelance architectural services, and to promote and operate the Ask the Architect.... He epitomises what AEC-focussed Twitter engagement should be about: focussed, informative and helpful"
• @urbanverse and @jenjarratt  for #futrchat twitter chat: - "A group of futurists, largely from the APF (Assoc of Prof Futurists) from across the globe who meet for an hour or so every month to exchange ideas, comment and drop leading edge, left-field concepts into the discussion. Not sure who started #futrchat but @urbanverse and @jenjarratt are drivers and facilitators"
• Alison Watson: @ClassOfYourOwn - "Alison is very active in posting useful and thought provoking tweets; she also retweets well and goes out of her way to help and connect new twitter friends."
• BDonline: @BDonline - "Unlike some other titles we try to only post tweets on stories that twitterers can actually access and we also talk to our followers. We've invested quite a lot of time in creating twitter lists that we hope are a useful resource for built environment tweeters and we run regular competitions for our followers."
